Dieting causes our basal metabolic system to slow right down.

Your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) is the number of calories your body needs in order to just survive.

So let’s say BMR is 2500 calories and you say enough is enough and you go on a diet.

You get a diet plan from the internet that says you should be eating 1500 calories to lose weight.

You follow that diet plan for a few weeks, and low and behold you lose 10 pounds!

But then something strange begins to happen…

You step on the scale one fine morning, and you have lose no weight…

Strange…

You then become stricter on your diet, and reduce calories even further…

You jump in the scale and only see a 0.2 pound loss!

A few weeks later you jump on the scale and your up 15 lbs (5 lbs heavier then when you started your “diet” )

In essence your body adjusted its own BMR to match your caloric intake.

So essentially you slowed your fat-burning engine down to a crawl!

You body didn’t want to use its own body fat for energy, because you starved the body of important fuel!

And the body responded appropriately!

So now you have a slower fat-burning engine and then when you jump off the diet, guess what happens!

You gain all your weight back (And then some!)

So, diets never ever work long term!

They are a band-aid solution to a internal problem that is happening inside the body.

What you need to do is change how your body’s biochemistry is working.
