How To Break Bad Eating Habits If You’re a Man Over 40

Ever since you were a little child, you have had eating patterns ingrained into you.

You were told what to eat, when to eat and even how to eat…

The problem was you were taught incorrect eating patterns and habits that led to you becoming overweight.

It’s not your fault, because in North America, you were taught about the S.A.D way of eating…

The S.A.D way of eating is keeping the entire population overweight, sicks and unhealthy.

The Standard American Diet is where you consume more the 65 percent of your total caloric intake from Carbohydrates

This includes all the processed foods that you are so familiar with.

If you want to finally lose the excess belly fat and get healthy, you must permanently change your bad eating habits, and this means letting go of the one thing you feel so good about…

Horrible foods that are keeping your body sick and obese.

But how do you finally change your bad habits and decide once and for all that you are going to kick the habit of eating horrible food?

Well, there are 3 specific strategies that I want to outline here that will help you move toward kicking the bad eating habits that have consumed your entire adult life.

1) Read ALL Nutritional Ingredients in The Food You Are Eating

By law, all food manufacturers are required to list all nutritional ingredients in the foods that they produce. Start by reading the ingredients in all the foods you eat. If you cannot pronounce it, or it sounds like a bunch of foreign words that you have never heard of, then stop eating it and throw it in the trash where it belongs. The key is once you have thrown that food out, is to find a healthy alternative. For example — Chicken Nugget T.V Dinner can be replaced with fresh chicken breast combined with feta cheese, black olives, avocado. Olive oil and spinach for a nice Chicken Mediterranean Salad.

2) Make Strong Daily Food Choices

Every day you will be tempted to eat crappy food. It is everywhere, and you cannot escape it. Even for myself, there can be sugary foods that surround me, but I do not bend…. I never succumb to the cravings. Why? Because every day I make the correct daily food choices that strengthen my willpower and make it impossible for me to “cheat” and make poor food choices. You have the same power within you, you just must choose to exercise it. Every day make the correct food choices, and this has a compounding effect that will add up and make it very easy to build up new eating habits.

3) Have Weekly Check In’s

You must have weekly check-ins with yourself to see if you are moving closer towards having better eating patterns. Are you getting closer to your weight loss goals or further away? If it is closer, congratulations!! Keep going and don’t stop. If you are getting further away, then you must re-evaluate what is happening, and course correct so you can get back on course.
